3 DIY Spooky Treats Your Halloween Party Needs

Angela Markus

Halloween is around the corner, and in lieu of those store bought items, why not whip up some of our Jumble Joy DIY Spooky Treats! Anything homemade is better because of the love and effort that goes into it. Not to mention, the kids will love making these yummy treats.

To create the Monster Apple Bites, get green apples, sliced strawberries, creamy peanut butter, sunflower seeds, and white and black piping gel.

First, cut the apple into quarters, and then cut out of the middle of the quarters. Paste the insides with peanut butter, and insert 4 sunflower seeds to replicate teeth.

To create a tongue, place a slice of strawberry inside of the cuts. Next, use the piping gel to create eyes on the top of the apple quarters. How cool do these look?

Next up, the Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats. To make these, gather 2 tablespoons of butter, red and yellow food coloring, 2 ½ cups of mini marshmallows, 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, and 5 to 7 Tootsie Rolls.

Melt the butter in a pan and add marshmallows. Cook on low heat until melted and add the food colorings. Cook until the colors are mixed in well, then add the Rice Krispies Treats. Stir until all of the ingredients are incorporated.

Remove from heat, allow to cool, and then roll into small pumpkin balls with a little hole to the top. Add the Tootsie Rolls to the top and apply green piping gel to complete the pumpkin look.

Finally, let’s make some Donut Spiders! For this treat, you will need, donut holes, pretzels, and M&Ms. Cut two curved sides off the pretzel, then stick 8 pieces of pretzel into the donut so it looks like legs. Create the eyes using piping gel and the M&Ms.

Can’t wait to showcase these at my Halloween party!

SHARE the love and pass it on!
