Setting up for a holiday dinner always takes far more work than people expect. There are so many little pieces of the puzzle to fit together, it’s not just about the food. One also has to decorate the surrounding area, find the right tablecloth to lay on the table, set it with nice silverware, and fold the napkins.

It’s this last step, that gets me every time, because unlike most people who either learned napkin folding from their parents or from a restaurant they worked at, I never learned it at all. And I always forget it’s a thing, until the last minute, when I remember that I have to look it up on the internet and try to learn yet again.
