Tao Porchon-Lynch isn’t your ordinary 96-year-old. Tao, who can pass as just another grandma, is a firecracker, when it comes to her ballroom dancing.

Tao has been a performer all of her life. She was born in French India and has literally made her way all around the world to pursue her dreams. Tao has lived the life many merely dream of. She has marched along side Gandhi and was a well-known model in France. Tao worked her way to Los Angeles where she continued to pursue her dreams and even befriended people such as Marilyn Monroe.

She has had a few set backs, but even three hip replacements can’t stop her from doing what she loves. She continues to inspire people everywhere she goes.

Life isn’t about opportunities but instead it is what you do with those opportunities. Many might think because of old age one can’t do what they desire, but Tao proves otherwise. She leads by example and shows everyone that it doesn’t matter how old you are, the sky is the limit. She has been quoted saying “There is so much to do, and so little time.” In today’s society we are often going through life so quickly and not enjoying the little things; Tao on the other hand is making every minute count. She hasn’t let anything hold her back from her passion and doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. Even at her age, she is still reaching for her dreams.
