91-year-old Estela Meléndez had a lump on her belly for years. She never thought anything of it until she went into the doctors office after a fall. After doctors conducted a few x-rays, they noticed something peculiar.

It looked like a tumor at first, but when doctors took a closer look, they caught glimpse of a spine. The lumped turned out to be a calcified fetus that had been inside Meléndez for nearly 6 decades.

For 60 years, Meléndez always thought she couldn’t have children with her one and only husband of 74 years, Manuel Gonzalez. Turns out, there was a fetus inside of her all along.

Since it hasn’t done any harm to her since, doctors object operating on the fetus, saying it would be too risky of an operation on such an elderly woman.
