If you want a craft to do with your daughters, this DIY is perfect! Summer calls for those tasty popsicle treats, but what do you do with all of those sticks? We know! Make Popsicle Bangles!
Popsicle sticks are so versatile and are used for a variety of crafts. This craft is perfect, it’s simple, and are ideal for summer camps, brownie groups and playdates.
You will need a box of wooden Popsicle sticks, the tongue depressors kind. You can purchase them locally, or you can gather them after you eat those delicious popsicles.
Place them in a medium pot of boiling water and gently boil them for 1 hour. Make sure to keep an eye on the pot, you may need to add more water as it boils. This will make them malleable and soft.
Once they’re soft, carefully remove and place them on a paper towel to dry. Bend them into a round shape—while they are still warm and damp—and place them inside an aerosol can lid. You may want to boil twice the number you ultimately need as some do split while bending.
Next, place them in the sun to dry for a day or so. Once they are set, you can get to the decorating.
You can decorate them any which way you like. You can paint names, designs, and inspirational quotes. Double-sided tape and seal them with a layer of Mod Podge.
The finished product is so fashionable. Any girl will love them! Thanks PagingFunMums, for this fun and fashionable DIY summer craft! For more cool crafts like this, visit their page!
