The healing power of forgiveness is truly extraordinary. Brynn Johnson experienced the unimaginable when her best friend, Cassie Miller, accidentally ran over and killed her 17-month-old daughter, Rowyn Johnson. Despite the impact of the pain and loss, the friendship Brynn shared with Cassie has grown stronger. Instead, Brynn notes that Cassie has been there to share in her heartache and now with her joy of expecting an addition to the family.
Any parent with the unfortunate experience of losing a child will agree with Brynn when she says that her life was forever changed a year ago when she lost her daughter.
The accident happened in Brynn’s driveway as the two friends attempted to get their boys in the vehicle for school. Cassie shares how Rowyn’s brother, Wyatt didn’t want to go to school that day and was crying. While Brynn was getting a booster seat Rowyn unknowingly exited the home. After Wyatt was secured in his seat, Cassie backed out of the driveway only to feel a sudden thump. The image in her rear-view mirror would forever haunt her.

Though Cassie says she felt responsible for Rowyn’s death, Brynn says she never blamed her best friend and instead blamed herself for not seeing her daughter leave their home.

Through all of the pain, Brynn says she is fortunate to have had Cassie by her side, and they have since started a charity organization called Raise For Rowyn. The organization is dedicated to helping other families dealing with a tragic loss.

What makes the story even more touching is that Brynn announced she is expecting a new baby daughter in October. The new baby will be called Mynrow, an anagram of her big sister’s name.
