Autumn is officially here, and Halloween is right around the corner. If you’re anything like me (artistically challenged) then you are probably not looking forward to the upcoming weekends of pumpkin carving. Think about it, a lot of pressure comes with carving a pumpkin. You have one shot and one shot only to create a precise work of art. One small slip up and you could end up with one giant hole in your pumpkin instead of that eyeball–like I have done many times before.
Carving a great pumpkin takes a lot of time and effort. Many people get frustrated when their work of art starts to mold too quickly. Once you have spent hours carving a freshly-picked pumpkin to perfection, how do you lengthen the life of your prized jack-o-lantern to keep it from shriveling up before Halloween?
There are several ways to preserve your pumpkin far past Halloween. All you need is 1 tablespoon of bleach, 2 cups of water, and 1 spray bottle.
Combine the water and the bleach into the spray bottle and spray your carved pumpkin. Let it dry for 20 minutes.
If the pumpkin is uncarved, you can use WD 40. Spray the pumpkin and wipe off the excess. It’s really that simple!
You will thank us in the winter time!
SHARE the love and pass it on.
