My best childhood memories are the ones where I’m digging my fingers into play dough. It was not only fun, but so educational. Playing with play dough at home or school supports childhood development. When children use play dough, they explore ideas and try different approaches until they find one that works. It allows them to compare and contrast objects.
There are many DIY play dough recipes circling the Internet, but this recipe has to be the coolest and easiest.
To make your very own play dough, add 3 cups of dough, 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix well together in a medium size bowl. Using your hands, knead the flour mixture into a dough.
Roll the dough out into a long log. Cut in half and then cut those halves into halves. Make dents in each quarter and pour in a different color of food coloring. Place each quarter into a plastic bag and mix by smashing together very well.
Ensure the coloring is spread evenly on the dough. Take the dough out of the bag and continue to knead. Then, let the playtime begin!
