Celebrity surprises are always fun. British superstar Adele gave a group of Adele impersonators the surprise of their lives recently when she went undercover in a prosthetic nose and chin to pose as just another impersonator named Jenny. The character follows the ladies with a teacher-esque persona, but when she steps onstage to sing, the women really get confused.
“Jenny” played her character well. She mingled with the other ladies as they all awaited their call at an audition, and even making jokes on herself about how long it has taken the talent to release new music.
The hilarious prank was filmed for the special program Adele At The BBC, hosted by British talk show personality Graham Norton. The program aired to coincide with the release of the singer’s third album, 25. BBC decided to get a little sneaky by having the real Adele wear a disguise and take on a new persona as a possible impersonator and see what happens. How would she do if she was auditioning as an Adele impersonator? And would the other ladies notice their hero was standing right there amongst them?
One by one, the ladies take the stage and give it their all. It’s clear how much they admire and adore their favorite singer. The greatest part is they have no idea she’s about to blow their minds. It’s not until Jenny opens her mouth to sing that they realize what’s been standing there all along.
Priceless!
