There is something about bright white sheets and pillows that makes a room feel truly fresh and clean. It’s no secret that hotels use white bedclothes for just this reason. What we don’t understand is why every time we try to purchase white linen for our homes, it ends up looking so shabby as it ages.
The white quickly is overtaken by a steadily increasing shade of yellow that looks decidedly unclean, even when we’ve just pulled our sheets from the dryer. So many of us end up giving up and just throwing these sheets into the “old rags” pile and buying new ones. We either give up on white linens altogether or constantly end up purchasing new white bedspread sets.
There has to be another way right? Or do hotels just do the same thing? We couldn’t figure out the answer until we saw this video. Now, it all makes perfect sense, and we’re delighted to say that we don’t have to waste money on several sets of bedsheets this year.
This simple “yellow pillow syndrome” fix is a real money-saver! To fix those putrid yellow-stained sheets and pillowcases, it turns out all we need is to wash them with a few additional ingredients.
Just turn your washing machine all the way up to its hottest setting and include a cup of laundry detergent, a cup of powdered dishwasher detergent, a cup of bleach, and half a cup of Borax. That’s it! We knew there had to be a simple secret solution that we just hadn’t been told about.
