How important is your body size to your sense of intrinsic worth? For one couple, the answer to that is very important, and they refused to walk down the aisle as an overweight couple. Claire Crowthers and her now-husband embarked on a journey to drastically shed pounds and become fit in time for their wedding.
Crowthers, from Wrexham, North Wales, was so unhappy with her size after binging on pizzas and junk food, that at one point she “couldn’t bear” to look at herself in the mirror. After a nasty remark had been made to her at work, the 31-year-old mother of one decided to take a different path.
Claire was so upset with her physique that she refused to get married to her boyfriend until she was happy with what she saw in the mirror.

In September 2011, she joined a fitness club in her home town. She attended a range of cardio and strength-training classes, and begin to see amazing results.With the support of Stephen, Claire dropped some 80 pounds before walking down the aisle.

Her weight loss continued and by August 2012, she was down to a UK size 6. Since overhauling her lifestyle and changing her appearance, fitness has become an integral part of her life. She and her husband, who made a remarkable transformation as well, followed a strict nutrition plan.

“The support of my husband was integral to the success of my weight loss and working to a goal together again felt great,” she said. The toned and healthy mom says that she has transformed her body twice.
