Lieutenant Returns Home To Meet His Baby Daughter For The First Time

Angela Markus

Nothing beats military family reunions. When those brave men and women sign up to serve our country, they sacrifice spending time with the people they love most. When Lieutenant Dan Haws learned that he was about to be deployed, he knew he would be missing the birth of his first baby girl.

Lieutenant  Haws served as a Dental Officer in Afghanistan for the US Navy from 2009-2010, leaving his wife to endure the ending of her pregnancy and the birth of her first child without her husband by her side. The couple managed with regular communication. The only tolerable thing about goodbyes is reuniting with that person you love; it is like falling in love all over again.

This tear-jerking clip captures the moment Lieutenant Haws is reunited with his wife and daughter who he met for the first time.

The emotions range from excitement to anxiousness to relief to love. Lieutenant Haws even received a warm welcome from the people on his street. As if this video could not be any more perfect, the smiles on his daughter’s face are just priceless.

Welcome home Lieutenant Haws!

SHARE the love, pass it on.
