Valentina was found alone and abandoned, but what’s even more heartbreaking is that she was found covered in tar. No one really knows the reason for the tar, but everyone could tell she was sick and lost all of her happiness.

She was rescued by two volunteer groups, Alianza Pro Rescate and PR Animals, and a selfless veterinarian, Dr. José A. Cruz.
