“Good moms have sticky floors, dirty ovens, and happy kids.” This age-old quote couldn’t be more spot on. Some of my favorite memories with my kids are when we rolled up our sleeves and got a little dirty — especially in the kitchen!
While those memories will last a lifetime, you don’t necessarily want your dirty kitchen to last that long as well. Although it’s never fun, it’s necessary to give your kitchen a good scrub down every once in awhile. But with so many cleaning products on the market it’s hard to find ones that A) won’t cost an arm-and-a-leg and B) are reasonably non-toxic.
So, instead of combing through aisles of different products at Target trying to pick one, why not just make your own? Military wife and YouTuber ‘Sugins Corner’ shows us how to take three simple ingredients and turn them into an amazing oven cleaner!
To make your own homemade oven cleaner that’s non-toxic, cheap and safe for your skin, all you’re going to need is baking soda, vinegar and dish soap. In this video, she pours two cups of baking soda into a bowl and slowly mixes in one cup of distilled vinegar. Once that’s all mixed together she adds in a half-cup of dish soap, she used Dawn but you can use whichever brand you prefer.
She mixed those three ingredients together until they formed a paste-like consistency, similar to pancake batter she said. From there she began the process of cleaning her oven!
