Residents in east China’s Zhejiang Province were complaining about a muffled baby’s cry coming from their bathrooms one afternoon. So, firefighters were called to identify the noise. Looking down the drain pipe, they discovered the unthinkable! Lodged deep within the sewage pipes was a newborn baby, clinging on to dear life! Before they could figure out who the baby belonged to or how it got there, firefighters had to act fast!

Watch the moment these real-life heroes carefully, but quickly, remove the stuck baby from the pipes. The adrenaline rush is almost too much to endure, but once you see the baby gasp for air, it’s a relief that’s all too surreal.

Police later discovered the mother of the child was a young woman who no longer wished to keep the child. Immediately after child birth in her washroom, she flushes her newborn baby down the toilet, walking away from the scene, hoping to never worry about the child again.

Thanks to China’s real-life superheroes, this baby gets to experience a life of his own- NOT with his heartless mother.
