It is sometimes very hard to see children contending with terminal illnesses. Fortunately, there are people who go above and beyond to bring a moment of joy to the lives of those children. Johnny Depp did just that!
Captain Jack Sparrow took time from his very busy schedule throwing back bottles of rum and pillaging the depths for treasure to bring smiles to the faces of those who need it the most. Captain Sparrow walked the halls of a children’s hospital in Australia to surprise some patients suffering from illnesses.
The first young lady was thoroughly surprised. Watch how she is completely astonished to see Johnny Depp, I mean, Captain Jack Sparrow. It brings elation just to see her joy. Captain Jack Sparrow opens his arms and the young lady goes in for that epic hug.
Captain Jack Sparrow was in full character as he walked around the hospital with his mate Scrum, who is played by actor Stephen Graham, joking around with the children, filling the hallways and rooms with smiles and laughter.
At one point, Captain Jack was asked to take a selfie. As he posed with two lovely young ladies to his side, he interestingly said, “Now if there’s other people in it, why is it called a selfie?” The laughter continued. Jack Sparrow was confused by the modern gadgets, however. He even confessed that he had no idea what the microphone was. It was evident the children were comforted and in glee.
Johnny Depp is presently shooting the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise; Dead Man Tells No Tales which was set for release in 2016, but has now been pushed back to 2017 because of budget issues. Nevertheless, the children of the children’s hospital in Brisbane were sure happy to hang out with the Sparrow.
How splendid! SHARE the love and pass it on.
