Last week we saw several acts of terror occur in multiple countries. Although Paris is most etched in our minds, there were other deadly attacks in cities across the world. Two suicide bombings struck southern Beirut on November 12th, killing 43 people, Lebanese authorities said. The number of injured, 239. Just seconds before, Adel Termos was walking with his young daughter when he spotted one suicide bomber preparing to detonate his vest.
Almost instantaneously, Termos tried to tackle the assailant, causing the bomb to go off. He was killed, and now, many are saying his heroic actions undoubtedly saved countless lives.
Termos was in the Bourj al-Barajneh district of southern Beirut when he saw the suicide bomber. Local reports are saying it was the worst attack since the end of Lebanon’s civil war in 1990.

Termos, a 32-year-old car mechanic and father of two, was able to save his daughter from the blast. He reportedly threw himself at the second suicide bomber approaching a mosque.

Bassima Termos, the widow of Adel Termos, said, “I am alive, and happy, and proud of my husband who held our family name up high and honored us.”

At the cost of his life, he saved many. This hero will not be forgotten.
