David Militello was 2 years and 7 months old and had yet to utter one word. With concern, his mother brought him to the doctor where he was diagnosed with autism.

Silent for the first three years of his life, everything changed one day after school. David’s bus driver at the time happened to strike up a conversation with David’s mother. It was during this quick interaction that she discovered the unthinkable. Everyday, David would sing all the way to school, and all the way home.

To David’s mother, this news was wonderful. While he may not be speaking words, the power of music was able to let David’s voice be heard.

Now, at 9 years old, it’s almost as if he’s transformed into another child. Here is David’s adorable audition on “America’s Got Talent” and all I have to say is, “Take THAT autism!”
