These Rare Photographs Of A Chameleon Are Unlike Anything You’ve Ever Seen Before

Bethany Burrows

Being able to watch an egg hatch is one of the most miraculous parts of nature, but sometimes they need a little bit of help.

Nick Henn of Canvas Chameleons knows exactly what a hatching chameleon should look like and this was not it.

Normally, when a chameleon hatches, the first crack they make in their shell is where their head is. The placement of this crack makes it easier for the chameleon to break his way out.

The little one pictured below had a crack in the side of his shell and Nick knew that if he wasn’t careful, this chameleon might not live.

Nick stated that, “when his siblings were running around the container and he was still hanging out in the egg, I knew it was time to help.”

He goes on to explain that, “this isn’t to say that he wouldn’t have found a way out, but based off my past experiences with situations just like this, I felt it was necessary to play Mother Nature and give him a helping hand.”

Thank goodness for Nick helping this guy out because minutes after he un-curled himself he was romping around with his brothers and sisters.
