Bacon and Beer Waffle Cake Exists And It Looks Amazing

Kendall Conners

What are two things that dads all over the world love? Bacon and beer of course! There is no better way to celebrate your dad (especially on Father’s Day) than with a special cake featuring the things he loves so much — bacon and beer!

Luckily, Brit + Co has come up with a recipe that turns bacon and beer into one delicious waffle cake! This is beyond mouth-watering and something every dad out there will LOVE!

For this scrumptious recipe you’re going to need:

  • 2 boxes of vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients (substitute beer for the water)
  • 2-3 jars of vanilla frosting
  • 1 package of thick-cut bacon
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar

Now, it’s time to get to the good stuff. If the picture below doesn’t have you drooling, then you must not be human.

Like the organized baker you are, start by getting all your ingredients together — cake mix, vanilla frosting, beer, bacon and brown sugar. Only five ingredients, seems simple enough, right?

Ingredients

Once you’ve got all your ducks in a row, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Then take half of the bacon out of the package and lay it on a nonstick sheet pan or a pan covered in parchment paper. Sprinkle your thick-cut bacon with brown sugar and bake for about 10-12 minutes. Once it’s done baking set aside to cool.

Take the remaining bacon, chop it up into small pieces and fry it in a pan till it’s nice and crispy. Set this round of bacon aside as well to drain and cool.

Then, follow the instructions on the package and mix your cake mix together — just remember to substitute beer for water.

Once your batter is all ready to go, preheat your waffle maker and pour in the batter.

Now, this is where that deliciously crispy bacon comes into play. Sprinkle the cut up bacon bits on top of the batter. Then cook like you would any regular ole waffle!

Cook up as many of these little beauties as you’d like!

While the waffles are cooling, add four tablespoons of beer to your vanilla frosting and mix until smooth in a medium bowl.

Frosting

Now watch closely, because this is where the magic happens. Slather on a layer of frosting on top of a waffle then stack another waffle on top. Repeat this process till you have a nice cake-like structure of waffles with a layer of frosting in between alternating waffles. Top off the ‘cake’ with some more frosting!

Put that candied bacon on top and boom, your masterpiece is complete! Now if this doesn’t look absolutely to die for, then I don’t think we could ever be friends.
