This Bacon-Guacamole Grilled Cheese Sandwich Is The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

Melty, crispy, cheesy, gooey. Those would be the four most important components of any guilty pleasure meal. Well, when you combine the goodness of guacamole with the power of bacon in a single glorious grilled cheese, the outcome is nothing short of a culinary miracle.

It’s not as easy as just pulling all of the ingredients out of the fridge, slapping them on the griddle and calling it a day. No way.

Food blogger Kevin Lynch’s recipe calls for bringing all ingredients up to room temperature before making this delectable monstrosity. The temperature of the ingredients is important so all of them melt into the cheese perfectly, without leaving behind any inconsistencies temperature wise. The last thing you would want when biting into a grilled cheese is a cold gob of guacamole.

You’d be hard pressed to find a better way to use your leftover guac.

Ingredients:

2 pieces of bacon

2 slices sourdough bread

1 tablespoon of butter

1/2 cup cheddar and jack cheese, shredded

2 tablespoons, room temperature guacamole

1 tablespoon, crumbled tortilla chips

Directions:

Step 1: Cook bacon until crispy. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess fat.

Step 2: Butter one side of each slice of bread. Sprinkle cheese on unbuttered side. Top with guacamole, bacon and tortilla chips. Sprinkle rest of cheese on top.

Step 3: Grill over medium heat until bread is crispy. About 2-3 minutes per side.

And you’ve got yourself one heck of a meal! Enjoy!
