This Banoffee Pie Will Change Your Dessert Game For The Better

One of the best parts about the internet is the abundance of cooking blogs. While I’m no creative whiz in the kitchen myself, I do appreciate the other men and women who are, like the kitchen geniuses who came up with this amazing banoffee pie recipe

Thanks to the ladies over at Three Many Cooks, a blog by a mom and her two daughters, we can now make this delicious treat in the comfort of our own home.

If you’ve never had banoffee pie before, you’re in for a royal treat! It’s an English dessert that was introduced to our lands long ago.

It tastes yummy with coffee, or if you want to be a bit more traditional, try it with tea!

The recipe is as follows:

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk, label removed

1 ¼ cups graham cracker crumbs

6 tablespoons sugar, divided

5 tablespoons melted butter

2 large bananas

1 ½ cups chilled heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup shaved semi-sweet chocolate

Here’s how to make that heavenly dessert all of your friends will be raving about…

First, place sweetened condensed milk can in a medium pan with water. The water should come up to about the ¾ of the can. Bring water to a low boil and then reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for three hours. You will need to add more water every so often, so keep an eye on it. After three hours, remove the can and let it cool before opening.

Next, mix graham cracker crumbs, 3 tbsps sugar, and butter together and then place in a pie dish. Spread out the mixture evenly so that it creates a crust. Bake for fifteen minutes at 325 degrees.

Whip the cream  with vanilla extract and the remaining sugar.

Then, take pie dish out of the oven and pour the condensed milk over the pie bottom, place a thick layer of bananas on top, and top with the cream mixture.

Place chocolate on top and enjoy!
