This Teen With Down Syndrome Got A Letter In The Mail That Left His Family In Tears!

Patrick Dangermond

Ben Sunderman is just your average 19-year-old teen. He has goals and dreams for his future, and will do just about anything to achieve them. However, there is one critical difference that sets him apart. Ben has Down syndrome.

Despite his handicap, he has three goals that he currently wants to achieve. He wants to get a girlfriend (of course), he wants to build some muscles and he wants to get a job. He just got a letter in the mail that’s going to help him achieve one of those.

With his mom taping him, Ben opens a letter from Embassy Suites hotel. The first word reads, “Congratulations!” What does that mean?

He has received a job, thanks to the fine people at Project Search, a program that helps young adults with disabilities transition from high school into the working field. Now he can focus on the other two!
