“Have no regrets.” That’s the advice we often hear from our elders, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have any regrets of their own.

Betty White, actress, author, producer, radio host, television personality and America’s favorite grandma recently revealed a heartbreaking secret on the Oprah show.

When Oprah asked this 93-year-old superstar what her biggest regret in life was, she immediately responded, “That I spent a whole year, wasted a whole year, that Allen and I could have had together.”

Allen Ludden was her late husband who lost his life to cancer. They were married for 18 years.

““[I said], no, I wouldn’t marry him. Saying, no, I won’t leave California. No, I won’t move to New York. I wasted a whole year we could have had together.”

“But we made it. We finally did.”

Although Betty White wishes Allen was still with her today, she cherishes every memory they had together.
