Katie Kirkpatrick fell in love and had her whole life ahead of her when she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. But despite devastating circumstances, she was given a ring by the man of her dreams to wed before she passed. At only 21 years old, she was celebrating the best days of her life during her last.

Her body began to fail and her breathing became difficult. Just before the day they were to say their vows, she had no choice but to take morphine and medicines to ease her pain. Although she experienced organ failure and her final session of chemotherapy, nothing would keep this bride from walking down the aisle!

On January 15, 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Kris Kirkpatrick were married. Then, just five days after, Katie took her final breath as Mrs. Kirkpatrick.
