Jonathan Pitre seems like your normal, everyday 14 year-old boy … but he’s not. In fact, he’s one of the bravest people that I have ever heard of.
Jonathan was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa, one of the rarest and most painful conditions known to man. This condition causes his skin to bruise and blister incredibly easily … even eating and drinking can cause his throat and mouth to blister. This makes his life extremely difficult. Kids with his condition are called “butterfly children”.
“They call us butterfly children because our skin is as fragile as a butterfly’s wings,” said Jonathan.
However, this hasn’t stopped him from living his life and raising awareness for the disease which currently has no cure. He has raised more than $100,000 for the Epidermolysis Bullosa charity and has spoken in public about his disease.
