Preschool students everywhere look forward to science lessons providing insight into one of the most mysterious beauties of nature. From furry caterpillar to blooming butterfly, the little children get to watch a tiny insect grow into one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful creatures – a butterfly!

Each butterfly is unique in its own way, and this little boy is about to get a close and personal view of a brand new friend!

The day was bright and sunny, with clear skies and life all around, when Gunnar Thompson learned the life cycle of a butterfly. But just as he was appreciating the best part about the process, the greatest thing happened to him!

He’s just about to set the newly hatched butterfly free when the dainty creature flutters right onto the little boy’s face, sending him into a fit of giggles! I was laughing along right there with him. Too cute!

Watch what happens as this little boy gets the experience of a lifetime. It was as though his new friend stopped to say, “Thank you!”
