Cancer Patient Calysta Bevier Sings Fight Song at Otsego High School

Jamaica Bravo

Calysta Bevier is one of the bravest girls i have ever seen. Still only in high school, this teen has had a really rough life. She has been struggling courageously against ovarian cancer for over a year and has already lost all of her hair to her chemo treatments. This poor girl might feel like she’s not pretty with her bald head, but she is fighting back against society’s standards for female beauty by showing us all what beauty really looks like.

Take a look at this amazing music video in which the gorgeous Calysta shows us how strong she really is. In her song, she announces the incredible news that her cancer is finally in remission. You can practically hear the joy in her voice as she stalwartly belts out Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song”. Her lovely voice will make even the coldest heart melt. The lyrics take on a whole new meaning in light of Caly’s own battle. Everytime she repeats the chorus, her voice echoes in my head like a resounding mantra. I keep getting chills.

“This is my fight song. Take back my life song. Prove I’m alright song. My power’s turned on. Starting right now I’ll be strong. I’ll play my fight song. And I don’t really care if nobody else believes, ‘Cause I still got a lot of fight left in me.” I don’t know about you, but I’ve got goosebumps. This girl is so inspiring.
