Celine Dion has a lot to contend with right now. Two days after losing her husband and longtime lover, Rene Angelil, she lost her brother Daniel to various forms of cancer. Daniel, 59, died in Dion’s native hometown of Montreal.
“It’s very painful. It’s a matter of days or hours,” Dion’s sister Claudette told the Journal of Montreal. “It looks a lot like René, he had cancer of the throat, tongue and brain.” The family said they will remember Daniel as a gentle and reserved man of many talents.
In the singer’s trying time, sharing one of her earliest songs with Josh Groban seems fitting. When two of the most talented vocalists of our lifetime come together to do a duet, you know it’s going to be something incredible. It’s amazing just how much emotion this touching duet can evoke.
Reminiscing about the first time she encountered the young singer, Celine recalls her Groban as a young boy. He was nervous, but when he opened his mouth, the superstar singer couldn’t believe his angelic voice. Celine then brings Josh on stage for a moving performance of “The Prayer,” a song that’s melody alone can bring a person to tears. They both have incredible voices that can do wonders for the soul, especially at a time like this.
SHARE the love, pass it on.
