She Takes Boxed Brownies And Peeps To Transform Them Into The Perfect Easter Treat!

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and Spring is finally in the air!

There’s no better way to celebrate the change of seasons than with delicious new recipes. If you’re anything like me, you always save room for dessert.

Even if you’re too full for a whole slice, one bite of this decadent treat is all you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. With rich chocolate frosting and fluffy marshmallow Peeps, this dessert is sure to be a hit!

These Peeps Sunflower Brownies (or Cake…I’ll explain later) are almost too cute to eat! Holly and Katie shared their version of the Peeps Sunflower on their blog, The Semisweet Sisters, and we can’t wait to try one for our Easter brunch.

The preparation for this festive treat varies, which is great for anyone who prefers to use store-bought products. You can either make your favorite brownies or cake from scratch (whichever you prefer), or use pre-made desserts from your favorite grocery store. This will be used for the base of your sunflower.

The full list of ingredients you will need include:

  • 1 Small Box of Brownies or Cake Mix (Enough to fit a 9×9 pan)

  • Chocolate Frosting (Homemade or Store Bought)

  • 20 Peeps

  • ½ Cup Chocolate Chips

  • ¼ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

  • Parchment Paper

Once you have all the items necessary to make your Peeps Sunflower, follow the instructions listed below:

  1. Follow the directions on the brownie or cake mix box. (Or use your homemade recipe)

  2. Line a round cake pan with parchment paper.

  3. Bake as directed on the box.

  4. Let your brownies or cake cool.

  5. Flip upside down onto a plate, and peel off parchment paper.

  6. Frost the brownies or cake with your frosting.

  7. Place the yellow Peeps around the outside.

  8. Put both the mini and regular chocolate chips in the center of the Peeps.
