The Faile family from Kershaw, S.C., gathered together in the center of the South Carolina Gamecocks’ football field. After being nominated as the Columbia Metropolitan Airport Military Family of the Game, the announcer warmly introduces the crew over the loud speaker.

To the Failes’ surprise, the announcer then directs everyone’s attention to the big screen where father and husband, Sergeant First Class Scott Faile, appears with a message for his loving family. He emphasizes through his words, the recognition that his two children and wife deserve for the sacrifices they have made, not only for him but for the entire military. The three stare up at the screen, wiping tears from their eyes as Scott continues his touching message.

He comes to a close with the statement, “I’ll see you real, real soon,” and this bit of foreshadowing is followed with the family’s second surprise. Out from the corner of the field runs Sergeant Faile, and the crowd goes wild. The happy family is reunited and it’s nothing short of beautiful!
