Learn How To Make Your Own Adorable Cookie Cutter Candles

Erika Carter

If you’re like me, candles are a staple in your home. The only problem with this wonderful addiction, is that candles can be pretty expensive. While it’s awesome to have your house smell nice — and incredibly comforting to have those soft candle flames glowing, the costs can definitely add up when you’re buying multiple candles a month.

Luckily, PopSugar’s savvy DIYer figured how to quickly and easily make candles at home. Plus, the candles are molded using adorable cookie cutters. I call that a win.

To get these fabulous candles (without the cost), you’ll need the following:

  • Candle ends
  • Small pan
  • Crayons (optional)
  • Small glass bowl
  • Wax paper
  • Cookie cutters
  • Sheet pan
  • Candlewicks

Step 1: Simmer water in a pan, then place a heat-safe bowl holding the candle ends in the pan, thus effectively making a double boiler. If you’d like to add color to your candles, you can add bits of crayons. Once the wax reaches 100 degrees Fahrenheit, you can start pouring your candles.

Step 2: Place a piece of wax paper on a baking sheet and then place your cookie cutters on top of that. Put your wicks in the cookie cutters.

Step 3: Slowly pour the wax into the cookie cutter molds.

Step 4: Once the wax has dried, remove the candle from the cookie cutter and enjoy! Just remember to burn your candles on a candleholder to prevent wax from spilling everywhere.
