This Festive Holiday Popcorn is Simple and Tasty!

Need to keep your kids occupied while you prep for the holiday that is only a few days away now? No problem!

You can set them to work doing something productive for you: cooking. Afraid to have your kids in the kitchen while you’re preparing all kinds of difficult and extremely hot dishes? Don’t worry, this recipe for Christmas Crunch Funfetti Popcorn doesn’t involve any real cooking, so you can set them up at a table with all the ingredients and let them go to town.

Sure, some of this yummy festive snack may get eaten up while they’re throwing it together, but you can curb that problem by making sure they eat a meal before they get started, and that you buy plenty of extras so that there will be at least some left over for the holiday.

Better yet, have them package the popcorn into small gift bags so that they aren’t tempted to eat it all before Christmas.

You’ll just need to set the kis up with about 2 bags of tender white popcorn, one 12 oz. bag of Vanilla Candy Melts, 1 ⅓ cups of broken pretzel pieces, another 12 oz. bag of green and red Milk Chocolate or Mint M&M’s and red, green and white sprinkles.

Just have the children remove any unpopped popcorn kernels from the popcorn as they pour it into a large bowl. Then, they can lightly toss in the broken pretzel pieces and M&Ms.

After that, microwave the Vanilla Candy Melts in a bowl at 50% power for 30 seconds, then stir gently. Continue with this process until the vanilla candy is smooth, without any remaining chunks.

Next, drizzle half of the melted candy on top of the popcorn, then stop, and lightly toss it all again with a rubber spatula. Pour the remaining melted vanilla candy on top and gently stir once more. Tell your kids not to over-stir it or their sprinkles won’t stick.

Next they just need to pour the entire thing out onto a cookie sheet layered with wax paper. Coat with as many sprinkles as desired. Allow the candy mixture to cool and harden before letting the children break it up into pieces and place it into an airtight container (or sealed Christmas baggies).
