There comes a moment in every child’s life when they start to understand that their parents are actual people and have lives outside of being just mom and dad. One of these biggest awe-moment realizations is when a child sees what mom and dad do for work.

When the little boy in this video sees his dad at work for the first time the look on his face says it all. You can see in his eyes that in that moment, his dad just became even more of a hero to him.

The father of this adorable little boy is a Norfolk Southern Engineer. One day mom took him and the other kids out to watch dad drive a train en route to Binghamton, NY. The train zooms by and dad leans out the window, waving and smiling.

Both of the kids are overcome with excitement just from the fact that they watched a train go by. Then you can see it clicks in this little boy’s mind, “Daddy?” His face lights up and he keeps repeating “daddy, daddy”.

When he realizes that his dad was the one driving the train, I got chills. His reaction brought tears to my eyes. It was so sweet.
