Looking back on your childhood, does it ever seem like your parents made it look easier than it really was? Odds are, they did. Hours on the road, family vacations, losing teeth, getting potty trained. The laundry list of parenting moments are endless. Your parents did it all and now that you’re in their position, you feel a level of gratitude you’ve never felt before. That doesn’t mean you can take shortcuts every now and again…

Take these dads for example. Dads aren’t as hands on as moms are, and that’s okay. They’re always looking for the best way to keep the kids fed and occupied while mom takes a well-deserved nap or afternoon out. While Mom’s away, the dads will play.

Kids are just happy to do anything. They find joy in everything. It’s adorable. They don’t know that you’re taking a shortcut. They’ll be able to look back on these days and laugh as they watched their dads navigate the often turbulent waters of parenthood. There’s nothing wrong with a little parenting hack here and there, or maybe just hacking your way through it entirely.
