Grayson Clamp is a little boy from Charlotte, North Carolina who has been deaf from birth. However, that’s all about to change.

He is receiving an experimental cochlear implant. This is a microchip planted in the base of his brain that will allow him to hear for the first time in his life. The doctor’s wanted to make sure that he heard something comforting…something that he would remember. So naturally, they chose his father’s voice.

Grayson’s reaction to hearing his father’s voice for the first time is simply amazing. At first, it’s curiosity. Then shock. Then…well, you can see the rest. I was tearing up by the end. This gives me hope that all deaf people will someday receive the gift of hearing!
