Forget Traditional Eggnog! Spice Up Your Holiday Party With This Deep-Fried Eggnog Recipe

Angela Markus

That sweet, thick, creamy, butterscotch-colored liquid is the beverage of choice this time of year. Eggnog has a very distinct taste to it, so it’s no wonder people have very strong feelings about the beverage.

With it only being available on shelves during certain months of the year, the hype just gets that much more intensified. I bet you didn’t know that you have egg nog another way—deep fried!

To create this scrumptious dessert from Oh, Bite It!, you will need pound cake, eggnog, powdered sugar, rum, nutmeg and some oil for frying.

Cut the pound cake into 1-inch cubes and then drench them in eggnog. In a pot fit for frying, heat the oil. Then you will want to fry each cube until it is golden brown. Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with paper towel.

Next, make the icing by mixing together the rum and powdered sugar. Transfer the fried pound cake to a baking rack, and then drizzle the rum glaze on each delectable cube.

To complete this savory snack, sprinkle with nutmeg before the glaze has hardened. I can’t wait to try these. Off to the grocery store to replenish my eggnog supply!
