If you love lasagna, you are going to love this recipe! This quick video shows us how to whip up a different style of lasagna- deep fried lasagna bites! This food is ideal for a get together at the house or a cheat day from your diet regimen.
You’ll need lasagna noodles, ground beef, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, oil, seasoning, eggs and bread crumbs.
Boil the lasagna noodles in a pot with water and a dash of salt. In a bowl, add the ground beef and seasonings for flavor. Cook the ground beef in a medium pan. You should drain excessive oil, return ground beef to the pot and continue to cook until dark brown.
Drain the lasagna noodles and set aside to cool. When the noodles are cool, lay on a clean surface. Add ground beef along the middle of the noodle, tomato sauce over the ground beef and top off with some cheese.
Carefully roll the lasagna noodle into a roll as shown in the video below. You can use a toothpick to hold in place. In another bowl, add the eggs and dip the lasagna roll, then dip into the bread crumbs. Place into a deep fryer until golden brown.
The great thing about this recipe is that you can use leftover baked lasagna or substitute the protein to create your own version. For instance, if you are a vegetarian, you can add tofu or soya bean. You can also spice up the protein by adding bell peppers or squash for a healthier rendition of the recipe.
