Every time I go to the grocery store, I make a point to stop by the air freshener and candle aisle and purchase a new scent. I typically go with something like “Fresh Linen” or “Jasmine Bouquet” but it depends on my mood at the time. I don’t know when this habit began, but it’s no doubt expensive and one that I need to break.
Each week or so, I add a $7 candle to my grocery bill, meaning that at the end of the year, I have a pantry littered with 52 near-empty candles and a bank account with about 364 fewer dollars. Like I said, it’s really expensive, but I love a good smelling kitchen. Don’t we all?
After seeing this video, however, I’m thinking that I might have found a better option for my clean smelling kitchen! Thanks to the awesome guy behind the OnePotChefShow YouTube channel, I now know how to make my own air freshener — for pennies on the dollar! Plus, it’s so easy.
In order to get an amazing and cheap home scent, simply put one teaspoon of an essential oil of your choice plus one liter of water in a spray bottle. Gently shake it and then use it as you would any store bought air-freshener.
I will definitely be using this tip! I think my home and my wallet will both thank me. When you give it a try, you will too!
