Some people are insanely creative. And lucky for the rest of us non-creative people, the ones with the good ideas tend to share them online. While I’ve seen some pretty cool and creative DIY projects, this one might take the cake. I mean, who would’ve even thought to do this? Not me, that’s for sure.
If you’re in the market for a big, fancy grill but can’t seem to come up with the hundreds (or sometimes thousands) of dollars, this guy has got your back.
Thanks to some pretty genius creative skills on his part, you can now be the proud owner of an awesome BBQ table — without all the extra and unwanted cost.
He just made a grill using a cable stool and showing us how he did it!
Step 1: You’ll need to find a spool or cable reel. You can typically find these on Craigslist for fairly inexpensive.

Step 2: Once you have your spool, you’ll want to sand all surfaces. You’ll definitely want to use a belt sander as opposed to sanding sheets for this project.

Step 3: Measure your small, tailgate style grill. Then cut a circle in the middle of your spool so that it is the same size as your grill.

Step 4: Apply a stain of your choice to the grill table.

Step 5: Wait for it to dry and place your grill inside the table.
