Learn To Make Your Own DIY Chapstick

Beauty products can be so incredibly expensive. It’s honestly ridiculous how much advertising revolves around convincing women that they need fifty different products just to make themselves look presentable enough to leave the house. We’re all unique and gorgeous works of art and though we all enjoy pampering ourselves from time to time, there’s no reason to let those money-grubbing makeup and skincare companies tell us how much happier we would be if we just dropped a couple hundred dollars on their newest line.

Most of the concoctions that they try to convince us to spend money on, use household ingredients anyway. Why spend $80 on all-natural-ingredient face masks and tinted sunscreens when you can make them yourself at home for way cheaper and know exactly what was put in them? This is something we’ve been asking ourselves lately, and we have been hunting around for the best, most effective recipes for making our own makeup and skincare from home, so we can share it with all of you.

Here, we have an easy DIY video showing you how to create your own chapstick. No need to throw down $5-$10 everytime you run out of this necessity! Follow these quick steps instead.

All you need is:

1 Tbsp beeswax

1 tsp coconut oil

1 tsp cocoa butter

some shavings from your favorite shade of lipstick

essential oil

tiny plastic container with lid

All you do is:

Lightly mix the first four ingredients together in a small bowl.

Microwave on high for 2 minutes, or until fully melted.

Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. We chose KIS Oils brand, orange oil.

Pour your liquid into a small plastic container of your choice. If you’d like, you can use an old empty chapstick tube, clean out some old plastic tea light holders and use those, or purchase some other kind of cheap container at your local Dollar Store or WalMart.

Put your filled containers in the freezer for one hour.

Wallah!

SHARE the love and pass it on!
