You’re Going To Love These DIY Natural Home Scents

From fabric softeners to garbage bags, today’s household products are chemically perfumed. Unfortunately, some of these items are unhealthy. A 2007 study of air fresheners by NRDC found phthalates in 12 of 14 brand-name products tested. Phthalates are endocrine disruptors that can cause hormonal abnormalities, birth defects, and reproductive problems. Yikes! But that doesn’t mean your home is forever doomed with the smell of cat litter and left over spaghetti. We’ve got you covered!

Let’s try these DIY natural home scents from our JumbleJoy Home Guru!

Anything with a citrus fragrance is immaculate. Grab an orange, cloves, cinnamon, and water. Slice the oranges then cut the slices in half. Get a mason jar, fill it with pieces of the orange, cloves, and a couple of sticks of cinnamon. Top with more orange pieces and fill the jar with water. Cover and store away until you’re ready to use it.

You can also try, lemon, vanilla, rosemary and water. The scent is divine! Slice one lemon, cut pieces of rosemary, and add vanilla extract. To complete, fill the jar with water and tighten the lid. So fresh and so clean.

For all of the mint lovers, get lime, thyme, mint, vanilla, and water. Similar to the other two scents, combine all of the ingredients in a jar and place into the refrigerator.

Once you’re ready for your home to smell divine, take the scent of your choice, place in a pot over the stove, bring to a boil and simmer. In no time, your home will be smelling better than ever!

SHARE the love and pass it on.
