As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten a bit better about not diving into candy the way I used to. So naturally when kitchen geniuses find ways to blend the ingredient into crafts and DIY projects, I find them irresistible. Check out Jumble Joy’s peppermint bowl DIY.
Making a bowl out of peppermint candies is both easy and awesome. The ease of the process will have you baking candies for quite some time. All you need is peppermint candies of your color choice, and parchment paper. You can use both green and red to create a Christmas effect.
The process is quite straightforward. Just line up the candies in the shape of an octagon on parchment paper placed on a cookie rack. Preheated the oven to 350 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove and set it on a wire baking rack to cool for a few minutes.
Now the slightly melted sweets can be transformed. Grab the bowl that you want to replicate and place the candy on the bowl. Be sure to shape the candy so that it can perfectly hold the shape of the bowl. Then gently separate the parchment paper just a tad, as shown. You can continue forming the candy to make the shape of a bowl. Don’t worry about the edges, it looks tasty as is.
