Wall clocks are the answer to the question of where to display time around the home when it is necessary not to have a clock sit on a table. The good thing about wall clocks is they come in a variety of styles. Those can include modern, antique, pendulum, atomic, and even fascinating clock faces that move apart as in a puzzle and rejoin again to the amazement of the viewer. If you like that type of thing.
But this DIY takes the wall clock to a new level. This make your own photo wall clock allows you to stare at one of your favorite photos, instead of those dreaded numbers. You can use a picture of your pet’s face, kid’s face, or yourself (if you are anything like me).
You will need a photo printed on semi-gloss photo paper, clock kit, glue, nail polish and an X-Acto knife.
First print your favorite front facing picture. Be sure to choose a photo that will end up 6-8 inches wide. Once printed, glue your photo onto a piece of foam board that is at least 1/8 inch thick and use an X-Acto knife to cut out the face.

Next, customize the clock’s hands with a popping color of nail polish. Now for the tricky part, assemble the clock by cutting a small hole in the middle of the picture’s face and follow the instructions to mount your clock kit. You need to insert the face where the clock face would usually go. Cut out four small paper dots and glue the dots onto the clock to indicate the twelve, three, six, and nine o’clock positions.
