She’s Making DIY Potpourri For Her Home and It’s So Much Easier Than You Think!

Your decorations have many effects. Among them, they can serve as a stimulant or soother to your senses. Bright colors excite and inspire while soft fabrics and cushions have a relaxing effect. Wind chimes and falling water create a meditative environment for reading or sleeping. One sense that you might easily overlook, though it has a powerful effect on mood, is the sense of smell. Thought to be the most powerful, one can easily create a passive, pleasing aromatic environment in the home. All you need is potpourri. It also has an incredible visual appeal.

For this do-it-yourself, you will need 1 orange, 1 apple, cloves, cinnamon, and anise.

Start by cutting your orange and apples into thin slices. Cover a baking pan with parchment paper and lay your slices with some space in between them. Preheat the oven to 250°F and bake the fruit for an hour and a half.

Grab a jar and put the pieces of fruit into it. Add the clove, cinnamon and anise and cover. Allow the scents to blend for 24 hours. Then you are ready for the aromatic splendor.

The fragrance will add the most pleasant scent to any room.

SHARE the love and pass it on.
