Summer is the perfect time of year to gather the family together and host a picnic! Make some sandwiches, get your potato salad and sodas together and you’re all set. Wait a second…aren’t you forgetting something? You’re going to need a blanket!

Give your next picnic a special DIY touch and make your own tassled blanket! It’s pretty simple to make and you only need four things!

To make this, you’re going to need:

– A rug

– Yarn

– Scissors

– Needle and Thread

Instructions:

1. Cut 2 pieces of string long enough to tie around a ball of yarn.

2. Take one piece of string and tie it three quarters of the way up the ball of string.

3. After you tie the string, cut along the bottom to give it the tassled look.

4. Cut off stray bits to make the tassel even.

5. After cutting, turn your tassel upside down, take the second piece of string, fold it in half and tie it in the center of the tassel.

6. Using a pencil or another long, thin object, push the looped end through the center of the tassel.

7. Continue doing this until you have all the tassels you want for your blanket.

8. Put your tassel loop under the blanket.

9. Take your needle and thread and sew them into your blanket.

And you’re done!
