Kristin Leigh Rhynehart adopted a rescue dog more than ten years ago. Years later, she gave birth to her little princess Addison, and the two have been best friends ever since.

One day, mom did not hear or see her dog and became apprehensive. She looked in all the places the dog might be. She searched around the house even going outside to find her pup. Her search was futile and thought her beloved pet was lost.

That was until she went into her daughter’s room where little Addison was sleeping. What she saw next was unimaginable in the most touching way. The dog was asleep next to Addison in her bed, under the covers.

Mom was so stunned she had to post it on Facebook with a caption, That moment you can’t find your dog and you even go outside looking for him…only to walk in the house and find him snuggled up in bed next to your toddler. People that say ‘money can’t buy happiness’ have never paid an adoption fee. Ten years ago, I left a rescue with this little guy, and I often wonder…who rescued who? I gave him a home, but he gave me so, so much more.
