An outdoor fire pit is the perfect complement to an outdoor dinner party with friends, and an excellent heat source for your family to enjoy the backyard during the colder season. But lighting those babies can be quite a bother if you do not have the right components. In the event you need to light your fire pit and you are out of supplies, watch this tutorial. All you will need are a few household items to make a 1-ounce waterproof fire starter that burns for 15 minutes.
Simply use dryer lint, an empty egg carton, an empty jar, old candle stubs or a box of wax, dental floss, scissors, and new Belgium beer.
First fill the carton with dryer lint, cut each compartment out, and fold the excess carton inwards. Using the dental floss, tie each compartment, allowing for a few inches of additional length.

Cut the wax into smaller pieces and melt by putting the pieces in a jar and into the pot of boiling water. Immerse each compartment into the wax ensuring each is thoroughly covered.
