This Easy Southern Apple Dumplings Recipe Is Everything You Need This Fall Season

Thanksgiving will be here before you know it and that means in addition to all the pumpkin flavored treats you have been enjoying lately, there will be even more apple-cinnamon flavored goodness to go along with it.

Since apple-flavored foods are enjoyed even when they’re not in season, once autumn rolls around and those apples are ripe, it’s important to break out some new, unique, extra awesome recipes to make all your friends envious of your ingenious cooking ideas.

You’ll be the first of your friends and family to come up with this distinctive treat. Warm-Apples-In-A-Blanket are positively mouthwatering and for those of you who don’t appreciate puns, you can always come up with some other name for your delectable creation.

All you need is:

Square oven safe dish

Small pan

Stirring spoon

Knife

Liquid pouring measuring cup

Carrot peeler

1 tube crescent roll dough

1 large Granny Smith apple

½ cup butter

-½ cup sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

½ tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

12 oz. lemon-lime soda

To make these delectable treats, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

Step 1:  Peel your apple with a carrot peeler.

Step 2:  Cut your apple into 1” thick slices.

Step 3:  Remove the seeds.

Step 4:  Wrap each triangle of crescent roll dough around one apple slice,

pinching the ends so the juiciness won’t escape.

Step 5:  Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon in a pan over

medium heat until it is evenly mixed.

Step 6:  Add the vanilla and stir briefly.

Step 7:  Remove from heat and pour the mixture evenly over the

apple-filled pastries.

Step 8:  Pour the soda around the edges of the inside of the pan only.

Step 9:  Bake in oven for 35 to 45 minutes or until you can smell the sweet, apple-cinnamony goodness and the edges of the pastries are beginning to lightly brown.
