Brittany Burgunder has an incredible story to tell. Transformation is about more than just changing your body shape and fitness levels. It’s about changing your mindset to focus more on positivity and a sense of self.
Growing up, Brittany was bullied and teased and says that she never had any close friends. Even though she was straight-A student and a great athlete, her self-esteem was non-existent. Then, when she was 13, she fell victim to anorexia.
Brittany spent the next several years in and out of treatment centers battling anorexia to obesity and bulimia. But now, she has completely turned her life around with excellent health and a positive energy. She’s telling her story in an attempt to help others.
Brittany went from an astounding 56 pounds, where she lost all mobility and faced liver failure, to 221 pounds. She wrote on her website, “I binged. After many years of controlling, resisting and depriving myself of food, I gave in. It was an exhilarating, wonderful and scary sensation. I didn’t know how to stop.”
This story does not only focus on eating disorders, but a young lady’s mental struggle to overcome a negative and damaging sense of self-worth.
Things are different now. She encompasses eagerness and zeal.
“I continued to branch out of my comfort zone and began forming positive, instead of negative, memories.”
Way to go Brittany! You need to hear her story…
